The church is nestled in downtown Huntsville, Ala., a few blocks from the Von Braun Performing Arts Center and a short walk to local eateries, shopping and scenic parks.
We have a diverse multigenerational church, that embraces both traditional and contemporary worship experiences. There is little something for everyone.
African Methodist Episcopal. The word African means that the church was organized by people of African descent and heritage. It does not mean that the church was founded in Africa, or that it was for persons of African descent only. The church’s roots are of the family of Methodist churches. Episcopal refers to the form of government under which the church operates. It means that the church is governed by bishops.
Worship service is a live broadcast and quiet seating begins at 9:45 am cst.
Children’s church is twice a month. Currently this schedule has changed and monthly programming is being redesigned to meet the current COVID health and state guidelines
Yes, Communion is open and served to any person who wishes to share in holy communion.
No, dressing up is not a requirement to worship with us.
The church offers community outreach by supporting local food programs, front line workers, incarcerated parents and youth aging out of the foster care system. The Church’s most notable program is the kitchen ministry that feeds several hundred people monthly.
